I don't know if this is useful to anbody, but i've found several very useful ways of getting VSTs and VSTIs running in MUSIX. All of them (apart from Jost) involve using WINE, of which the most useful and stable versions seem to be 1.1.11 upwards. May I recommend the excellent VSThost by Hermann Seib as a great starting point and testing ground. Secondly for those of you who enjoy the tracker experience, download and WINE Psycle. I believe that a Linux version is on its way, but until then use this. Imagine the best bits of Buzz working with the best bits of C*ba*e (hem hem) and you'll have some idea how quickly you get work done! To top all of that, I just started up jost (all guns blazing, all ported plugins) then fired up Psycle, and started an instance of the "Y MIDIout" native plugins, so I can now use all of my favourite MDA plugins, plus whysynth, xsynth-dssi and hexter all in a tracker environment, without having to fork out a shed load of cash to Renoize. Hows about THAT then, guys and gals?
